Carbon Fiber Foundation Repair

Unstable soils and hydrostatic pressure can cause your foundation walls to crack, bow, and in
some cases, collapse completely. Barrier Waterproofing Systems utilizes the strength and stability
of carbon fiber technology to repair your failing foundation.

Carbon fiber technology has been used for years by the military, in the aerospace industry and in
heavy construction applications. It was even used to support the concrete at the World Trade
Center during damage assessments after the September 11th tragedy. Engineered exceptionally
strong, our carbon fiber applications will not bend or crack...even under 10X normal pressure.

Carbon fiber technology is stabilized with an epoxy that permanently binds the carbon fibers to
each other and to the surface on which they are applied. Once in place, they are immobile and,
even under 10X times normal pressure, they won't break, stretch, crack or bend. Your homes
foundation will, quite literally, be locked in place.

Carbon fiber vs. Traditional methods

Traditional methods of foundation repair don't stand up to a carbon fiber repaired wall.

Steel Beams

Carbon fiber delivers strength far superior to that of steel. The Traditional steel beam method
requires a hole busted out of the floor slab, placing a steel I beam on the footer, then replacing the
concrete around the beam and then securing it to the floor joist's. The steel beam is straight, the
bowing wall is not. Therefore there's actually only a small portion of the steel touching the wall. Steel
beams can take up 6 to 12 inches of valuable space and their appearance is nearly impossible to
hide. A finished carbon fiber application is thin as a dime and paintable if you so chose.

Wall anchors

Carbon fiber repair is non-invasive and indestructible. Attempting to secure a foundation with a wall
anchor is a long and tedious process. Your home's exterior may need to be excavated, and in
some cases, the process may not only interrupt your landscaping, but also your neighbor's. And,
wall anchors require repeated maintenance because they loosen as your foundation continues to
crack and bow. Carbon is applied to the inside of your wall and permanently stops bowing and
cracking.

NOTE: Carbon fiber does not straighten your wall, it locks it place and prevents further damage.
This is why some clients choose to straighten their wall then have carbon fiber installed.
